This work is concerned with improving the learning of the Japanese language, using
gamification and social media. For this reason, an example course for one lesson of a
Japanese textbook was created within in the LMS Moodle. The aim of this work is to show,
how a LMS and especially Moodle can be used, to to provide a useful addition to lessons.
Furthermore, a survey was carried out, how students feel about LMS and gamification in
order to gain a deeper insight.
