Camera tracking is an important component of virtual studios. There are different methods and systems to enable the tracking of the camera parameters. This paper describes the possibilities and problems that occur using the SteamVR tracking system as a camera tracking system in a virtual studio. The aim is to clarify the extent to which the SteamVR tracking can be integrated into a virtual studio. For this, the virtual studio system is explained, with specific focus on tracking. Furthermore, the SteamVR tracking system is explained and integrated into a virtual studio by the described implementation. During the implementation process, it emerged that the SteamVR tracking could be used for interactions and was implemented for test productions as well. By measuring the different tracking devices of Lighthouse 1.0 and 2.0 it was possible to determine which combination is best suited for camera tracking. This was used to realize a test production, which was then evaluated by a survey. The evaluation indicated that the SteamVR tracking can be used quite well for the realization of AV or AR videos, but still has some problems that are unsuitable for a professional virtual studio. In the future, several improvements could solve these problems.
